Science 6
Science for 6th grade is a passport to learn about the earth, creation,
motion, human body, and God's continual plan for our lives. Science for
6th grade uses the Bob Jones curriculum to develop and use skills such
as conducting research, writing, and making oral presentations in order
to understand the physical world around us according to how God planned
it.
Grade: 6
Course Length: 1 year
Life Science
Course description: Life science is the study of living organisms. Over
the course of the year, students will examine cell structure and function,
DNA, and genetics, progressing unto more complex organisms such as plants
and animals, including a study of the human body and its systems. Incorporated
throughout the year will be the theories of creation and evolution. These
theories will be presented, analyzed and evaluated by examining the ideas,
evidence and validity of both scientific beliefs.
Fee: There is a one-time $10 lab fee charged at the beginning of the year.

Course Length: 1 year
Physical Science
Course description: Over the course of the year, students will examine
the properties and characteristics of matter, the elements of the Periodic
Table as well as look at atoms, compounds, bonds, forces and motion. Students
will also explore topics relating to space, including the sun, the solar
system and the universe. Incorporated throughout the year will be the
scientific method and the theories of creationism and evolution. These
theories will be presented, analyzed, and evaluated by examining the ideas,
evidence and validity of both scientific beliefs.
Fee: There is a one-time $10 lab fee charged at the beginning of the year.
