
A student/athlete that competes in at least 50% of a varsity team's contests during the regular season receives a chenille letter.
A chenille chevron is award for each year a student/athlete letters.
A chenille patch is awarded for each sport in which a student/athlete letters.
A chenille star is awarded for every 1st team honor a student/athlete receives.
A student/athlete will receive a certificate recognizing his/her participation or lettering for each sport in which they participate.
Awarded to the most outstanding two (one male, one female) high school athletes of the year, in accordance to athletic achievement, academic excellence and overall attitude. The determination will be made by the Athletic Department and the MCS Administration. These student/athletes names will be permanently displayed in the gym.
A student/athlete that letters in 3 different high school sports in the same school year will be recognized for this achievement with a chenille patch and an accompanying certificate.
Awarded to a high school student/athlete that maintains a 3.5 semester GPA while playing a varsity sport will be recognized for this achievement with a chenille patch and an accompanying certificate.
Maranatha Christian Schools loves to recognize their outstanding athletes. Three of the following four awards may be given by a coach to their team. At the high school Varsity level and the junior high "A" team level, some of these awards will have a special designation as detailed below:
This is the Varsity or "A" team's Most Outstanding Player. Awarded to the player who has proven to have a lasting impact on their specific team.
This is the Varsity or "A" team's Team Leadership Award. Awarded to the player that demonstrates the characteristics of a leader on and off the field/court/track.
This is the Varsity or "A" team's Coaches Award, awarded based on attitude, effort and/or coach-ability as displayed throughout the season.
Awarded to the player who has shown the most
improvement throughout the season.
